I’m Simon. After 10 years at Google, I’ve become the co-founder and CTO of a digital agency. I'm on the Advisory Board of some incredible startups in Asia. I also run a few experimental side projects.

You'll find in this blog my thoughts on digital marketing trends, some recommendations to design large scalable web applications, and my personal lessons from working in a location independent startup.


Where to next

As one of my managers at Google used to say, the most important part of planning isn’t to decide what to do but to decide what not to do. That saying kept popping up in my mind over the past few weeks.

While I stopped working at Google last month, my contract officially only ended last Friday. One of the benefits of preparing my transition for over a year is that I was able to save up quite a few days off indeed. It gave me time to prepare the ground before officially joining the team over at mOOnshot digital.

So with a bit more clarity, let’s continue where we left off with my previous post. Here’s what’s in store for the next 12 months.

Goodbye Google, Hello World!

This will be my last week at Google. After 10 years working at the best company in the world, I’ve decided to leave. It wasn’t an easy decision. It took me over a year to fully make it and prepare for it. I’m leaving behind an amazing team and a comfortable job with a cosy salary. But it’s a decision I had to take in order to grow and invest my time in ideas that I’ve been postponing for too long.
